The deep South

Just returned from a southern place

where the fields look like this

and the ocean sat well with my western compass

I was enlightened!

and there was a "long slow walk"

We ate glorious food
made by
some very special people
India Flint
and sous chef Roz Hawker.

and Sandra Brownlee took us
on a journey and
shared her
knowledge.
Encouraged us to write….I had forgotten I could write.
It felt so very good.

Bluer than Blue

Indigo is flourishing here on the Mountain
there is an immense satisfaction
in growing your own
colour

Experimenting with composting Polygonum
by rolling pulped leaves into little balls to dry

and
experimenting with fermentation

we will see!

I sit on the edge, of the pond if you like, of artists, readying myself for the plunge, learning experimenting tasting.
Occasional dips to see if I'm ready.
Trying to find my space in there.
Seeking originality.
Waiting for the time to be free to explore and be my verb.
Wondering if I am cut from the right cloth.
Am I brave enough.

Its quite a thing.
I am getting closer,
I can feel the excitement building.
Excitement not fear.
and then doubt.
Is it too late,
